The 850-space park and ride, located on the A40 eastbound, will help improve congestion on the A40 and provide regular and reliable public transport services into Oxford. Users will benefit from 24-hour security, dedicated cycle storage, public toilets and electric vehicle parking bays. When introduced, the site will be accessible 24 hours a day and is designed for easy use with dedicated access and exit routes.

Scope Overview

We delivered the enabling works, groundworks and civil engineering infrastructure for this 850-space Park & Ride facility on the A40, helping to improve access to Oxford and reduce traffic congestion. Our scope included drainage and service installations, road crossings, pavements, kerbing, footpaths, lighting and CCTV infrastructure, together with soft and hard landscaping works. We also constructed foundations for the toilet block and bus shelters, and installed cycle shelters, benches and other public realm features to support the completed facility.

Despite a significant amount of additional client-instructed works during the programme, we successfully delivered the project within the original timescales through detailed logistical planning and efficient resource management. The project involved over 45 operatives, 30 items of plant and more than 3,200 delivery movements, while achieving 94,445 working hours without a lost-time injury.
