The Sizewell C Southern Park and Ride, located near Wickham Market (off the A12 and B1078), is a vital component of the project's traffic management system. It intercepts construction-bound traffic from the south, significantly reducing congestion on local East Suffolk roads.

Scope Overview

We are delivering the groundworks and infrastructure works for the South Park & Ride facility at Wickham Market, a key element of the Sizewell C transport strategy. The 26.4-hectare site will provide 1,250 car parking spaces, bus and motorcycle facilities, cycle shelters, welfare buildings, security infrastructure, EV charging provision and a dedicated Traffic Incident Management Area (TIMA).

Once operational, the facility will enable workers to travel to the main construction site by bus, reducing traffic on local roads and supporting sustainable transport objectives. Early works have included site fencing, ecological management and archaeological investigations to prepare the site for construction.
