Royal Albert Dock is a landmark regeneration project transforming a historic East London dockland site into a major international business district. The 4.7 million sq ft mixed-use development will deliver office, residential, retail and public realm spaces, creating a gateway for trade and investment.
Project Overview
At over 1,200 acres of land, with 250 acres of water and nearly 12 miles of waterfront, the area can be classed as one of the most exciting regeneration projects in London. Instructed by our client Multiplex as Principal Contractor, we worked collaboratively to deliver significant remediation and groundworks across this redevelopment.
Scope Overview
We delivered earthworks, remediation, infrastructure, deep drainage, utilities and hard landscaping works, including the excavation and disposal of 50,000m³ of spoil. To support the project's sustainability objectives, 20,000m³ of hard material was processed and reused on site, contributing towards BREEAM targets. Working within the challenging ground conditions of a former dockland and historic Thames marsh site, we applied specialist engineering solutions to overcome complex geotechnical constraints. Through close coordination with multiple contractors and proactive delivery management, we helped maintain programme certainty across this highly constrained development.
