Royal Wharf is a landmark riverside community comprising 3,385 homes, extensive retail and community amenities, and over 24 acres of landscaped parkland along the River Thames.

Project Overview

Royal Wharf was delivered in collaboration with partners Ballymore and Oxley, with the developer team appointing architects Howells to develop a masterplan inspired by the classic great estates of London – most famously forged in the Georgian and Victorian eras. With a total land area of 16.2ha, this scheme delivered 3,385 homes and 11,150sq of retail and commercial space.

Scope Overview

We were appointed as Principal Contractor for the groundworks and infrastructure of the Royal Wharf development, taking the scheme from Employer's Requirements through detailed design and construction. Our works included remediation, infrastructure and utilities installation, delivery of 6,500 CFA piles, construction of six basement structures and nine ground-bearing structures, basement walls, podiums and superstructures up to fourth-storey transfer slab level. We also delivered a piled tidal terrace along the River Thames, energy centre structures, drainage and pumping systems, waterproofed basement and podium slabs, and major highway improvements to North Woolwich Road, including upgraded traffic signal infrastructure.
