Project Overview
This hyperscale data centre development is delivering 18 data halls, providing 31MW of IT capacity and representing Colt DCS' third and fourth hyperscale facilities in London. We supported our client through extensive pre-construction services, including engineering development, BIM coordination and 3D modelling, helping to optimise design, improve buildability and support successful project delivery.
Scope Overview
Our scope included the delivery of site-wide infrastructure works comprising temporary roads and hardstanding, welfare and compound services, earthworks, drainage, roads and parking areas, and service mains installations. We also undertook extensive groundworks and structural concrete works, including pad foundations, under-slab services, ground floor slabs and reinforced concrete structures for the main buildings.
We worked closely with utility providers, local authorities, façade installers and M&E contractors to coordinate interfaces and maintain programme certainty. Through regular coordination meetings, design workshops and proactive information sharing, we successfully managed project interfaces and resolved potential issues at an early stage.
Using advanced BIM software and our in-house BIM team, we carried out detailed design reviews and clash detection analysis to identify and eliminate conflicts between utility installations and other project elements before construction commenced.
